Navrattan Hydrophobic Grout
Navrattan Hydrophobic Grout is an unsanded tile joint grout, which is a pre-blended mixture of inorganic polymers natural minerals and selective pigments to impart heat reflective properties apart from providing hard, uniformly colored, abrasion, mild acids, and detergents resistant joints with greater adhesion and compression strength. In addition, it has superior waterproofing property also. It is a single component powder that is water activated.
FEATURES & BENEFITS OF NAVRATTAN HYDROPHOBIC GROUT
- Ideally suited for roofs and bathrooms
- Quick setting with high early strength (Walkable after 2 hours)
- Highly impermeable to water
- Mold and mildew resistant
- Very high bond strength
- No curing required
- Interior and exterior use
- Eco – friendly, Contains Zero VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)
MIXING GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION
250g of Navrattan Hydrophobic Grout should be added to about 70 ml of clean water and appropriately mixed to a thick creamy consistency. Initially, the mix may appear dry, but do not add more water than specified. As the binder components dissolve, it will form pourable slurry.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Joints to receive Navrattan Hydrophobic Grout should be clean and free from unsound materials, dust oil, grease, and other contaminants to ensure the adhesion properties. Before commencing grouting with Navrattan Hydrophobic Grout, ensure the tile adhesive is sufficiently cured. Make sure that the tile surfaces are wetted by water chocked sponge for a width of 1” on both sides to reduce surface temperature to avoid rapid setting of spillages/ excess grout and for easier cleaning of the same.
USES OF NAVRATTAN HYDROPHOBIC GROUT:
- Floor tiles (to match the waterproofing properties in the joints)
- Terrace tiles (to match the thermal and waterproofing properties in the joints)
- Cool roof tiles (to match the thermal and waterproofing properties in the joints)
APPLICATION OF NAVRATTAN HYDROPHOBIC GROUT:
Apply the grout to the joints with a grouting trowel, squeegee or sponge, enduring that the joints are filled. Compact the grout in the joints and clean off excess with a damp cloth or sponge as the grouting proceeds. Allow the grout to harden sufficiently to prevent removal from the joints when cleaning. This hardening will usually occur within 30 minutes. In exterior conditions, it is essential to protect from all extremes of climate for as long as possible during and after grouting has been completed. Usually a time of 2 hours is recommended.
Safety:
The use of dust masks, safety goggles, and gloves are recommended.
Storage Life:
Navrattan has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacturing if stored in the original unopened packing, under shade in dry and frost-free conditions.
